Married in Fla and Honeymoon in Philippines
« on: November 22, 2011, 02:10:23 PM »
Hello

I met my husband in Florida and that is where we got married. We knew before we married that we were going to go to the Philippines for our honeymoon. We wanted to go to the Philippines for two reasons (1) my parents were born there (I was born in the USA) and (2) Someday we may consider retiring there.

We had a garden wedding. It was small (25 people) and in an outdoor setting with flowers and a pond. I made my own wedding cake (see avatar) and we even did our own music.

After the wedding we took off to Manila Philippines where it is a shoppers delight for us ladies. We stayed at the Shangri la hotel in Manila. Beautiful place. Here is a link if you want to check it out: http://www.shangri-la.com/en/property/manila/edsashangrila

I know for many that the Philippines is not a traditional honeymoon site, but if you want to go some place where you can do a lot on a limited budget it is a great place to go.

When me and my husband renew our vows, we are thinking of doing it at Shangri la hotel.

Oh, forgot. Want to show you a picture of me and my husband  at TAAL Volcano site in the Philippines during our honeymoon. So young  ;D

Wow. You should show us more pictures of your garden wedding destination. It sounds beautiful. I think many people have their wedding in the Philippines. It is a very pretty location some some sections of this island. I would enjoy the island flowers personally.

Thanks for the compliment. Just in case I wasn't clear in my post. We married in Florida and honeymoon in Philippines. However, we plan on renewing our vows in the Philippines next year.

I will have to dig through our photos. I'm the most disorganized person in the world and I must have close to 10,000 photos scattered throughout my computer. I need to sit down and organize them some day.

I'm sorry. I meant to say your vow renewals. I'm sure it will be spectacular. I hope you bring back some photos from it.

No need to apologize, I just wanted to be sure it was clear for the other readers. No doubt we will take lots of pictures. By the way, I checked out your site in your signature. Nice site.

Yes, Stevie. How long have you been married? That would make for very interesting conversation.
