Finding Love

You know for us ladies, finding love is not always an easy journey. I dated for a little while before I met my husband. Came close to marrying, but at the last minute backed out. I knew I was just settling -- I was tired of looking after years of dating and almost married someone who didn't really make me feel love. I felt secure, but not love.

When I finally met my husband, there was this feeling that kind of scared me. It was that tingling butterfly and goose bump feeling that I never felt before.

So I guess what I'm saying don't settle no matter how long it may take to find love. If you do, you may regret it if the one who makes you tingle comes along.

My problem is that I had been in love seven times in my lifetime only for it to fall apart every time, including with my ex fiance. Sometimes I wonder what is the use. Still, I would never get married to someone I'm not in love with.

Maria, maybe you can just ask him? Also, I'm curious. Where are you from? I know in some places in the world marrying a cousin is acceptable and legal. It is illegal in about half of the states of the U.S. though. Not to embarrass you, it is just a cultural difference is all. (I know a guy from Portugal who had a girlfriend who was a second cousin, too.)

I was in a relationship once with a man who said and did all the right things. He was the kind that was perfect on paper. However, he didn't reach me at all where it matters-the heart. The best of both worlds is ideal. I am right now in love with a man who looks good on paper and reaches not only my heart but my soul.

In my experience finding love is definitely hard. Unless you're really lucky, which unfortunately I'm not. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever find love.

It can be hard to find security and love in the same person. Then on top of that you need to find someone who is honest? It's tough out there so if you know you and the person you are with love each other and you treat each other right, hold onto that. Do not take it for granted.
