Scam Attempts!
« on: February 15, 2012, 11:22:34 PM »
I went to a wedding expo and filled out different forms for drawings. I got a phone call stating that we won a honeymoon and all we had to do was come sit through this meeting for two hours. I did some research and found that its a time share that they try to target new couples.

It's sad how desperate some people are!

You are lucky for being smart enough to avoid that.

A cousin of mine, who is not really 'online erson' got scammed for a so called wedding gift which turned out to be $100 box of thin air.

Too bad she did not share that 'winning' with us as she wanted to surprise everyone, so it turned out bad.

We talked to my fiance's parents who have a timeshare and they told us to be careful as there are tons of scams like this out. With us being young and excited, we are perfect targets for such an ordeal.

Yeah. And the thing that pissed me out the most is that police did nothing about it, because it is 'not big money'. I mean how can you say to someone that $100 is not a big money, to someone it is, not everyone is rich.
Gosh I hate that story every time I think of it  >:(

Unfortunately so many people are desperate and the more desperate you are, the more of a chance you will attract scammers. It is the worst thing for that to happen.
