How long does it take to plan a wedding?

What would be the proper time to start making arrangements for the ceremony? When is too late?

I am starting to plan a year ahead of time, this gives us time to reserve the venue and make sure everything is in order. I think it can vary greatly depending on the amount of detail and size of the wedding.

Yes it depends on how large the wedding will be. The larger it is and the more elaborate it is, the longer you will need to plan. If it is small then maybe 6 months.

Yes small weddings will not involve a lot of planning. They are less stressful too.

I am having a small wedding and we started planning it in January of this year and will be getting married in July. Even for small weddings you need some time to plan, at least 6 months.
