How to pick a date?
« on: December 19, 2011, 01:07:40 PM »
My fiancee and I are at a loss for choosing a date! For those of you that are married already, how did you choose a date or the big day or were you forced into that certain date? We probably won't end up getting married until next summer or so, but we aren't sure!

I had a friend who decided to get married on 4th of July. However, I would not recommend getting married on any national holiday unless you don't mind competing with other celebrations.

Choosing a date for a wedding is a personal choice in most cases. Many things can factor into picking a date. One of our biggest factors was picking a date where our church and reception were opened for business and not already booked!

Thanks for your posts! Jabsfreelanceworld - I don't want to get married on a major holiday, or even near one. That's not my style at all. We are looking at sometime in the Spring, possibly? But it may be too late, so we might have to wait. :(

I say get married on a day that is a non-holiday, non-birthday, or non-special occasion. That way you have one more celebration with yourself and the one you love. :)

National holidays are not a good choice. Also dates like 11/11/11 seem really cool, but a lot of people choose dates like that and everything is probably booked unless you're really early.

I think you should choose a date that means something to you. Maybe your first date, first kiss, when you met, and so on.

I think it depends on personal choice but some time it depends on marriage club, means is it already booked or not.

We are trying for either the date that we started dating or the date we got engaged. We just thought it would be neat to act on the same day everything started.
