Wedding Cake?
« on: December 14, 2011, 04:35:41 PM »
I know nowadays people are moving away from traditional wedding preparations. It makes me wonder, how many of you are having a wedding cake, and how many of you have decided to have a different type of desert represent your special day?

My husband and I just recently got married. We both knew we wanted a cake, it was just a matter of how much we actually wanted to spend on one! Wedding cakes are very expensive, so I could definitely see why some couples opt out of having one.

You bet we had a wedding cake for our wedding! My husband and I are both huge "foodies". We love our food, and desserts...don't even get me started! Believe it or not, our cake only cost us about $150. Much cheaper than what most pay for a cake these days.

Partyof4, you definitely did get a great deal on your cake. My would-be sister in law is making her own cake, because that's what she does. I hope some day she has her own bakery.

That actually sounds like a great idea. Any recommendations for me? I wouldn't mind trying to order my cake.

I will definitely have a wedding cake. I just love desserts, especially cake!
My mom makes really delicious strawberry cakes, and I want something like that.

We will be having a wedding cake. For a short time I was considering having a cup cake style (cake?) but decided on the regular wedding cake instead.
